The physics and psychology behind the art are what I love most about taking photos. I’m using light to freeze a moment in time. The resulting images elicit thoughts, emotions, and memories from the viewer.
I started out assisting my cousin, Gerold, with lighting and tech. I picked up a camera and became a photographer through happenstance; Gerold needed a second shooter for a wedding in Memphis and he trusted me enough to do it. The whole experience from packing our gear, to finding dodgy gas stations, to the wedding day was extremely stimulating and super fun. We were absolutely drained by the end of everything, but it didn’t seem like work. After that road trip, I was completely sold on photography.
